What is The Last Astronomer?

The Last Astronomer is a retro-style pixel platformer that mixes Metroidvania exploration with tough Souls-like combat. You play as the last stargazer in a world taken over by corruption, exploring dangerous forests, fighting creepy monsters, and uncovering secrets hidden in every corner.

Even though it’s still a prototype, the game already feels fun, challenging, and super addictive for fans of indie adventures.

Gameplay

This game is all about exploring a connected world. You’ll jump across platforms, dodge traps, and battle monsters using fast reflexes. Each area is packed with secrets, NPCs with cryptic stories, and upgrades that help you survive longer.

If you like a challenge, this game is perfect: the combat is tough but fair, making every victory feel earned.

Controls

You can play with either a keyboard or a gamepad. All keys are remappable, so you can set them however you like:

  • Move: Arrow Keys / WASD

  • Jump: Space or W

  • Attack: J / Z

  • Dodge: K / X

  • Heal: L / C

  • Map: Tab

On the controller, it’s basically the same (A/X to jump, X/Square to attack, B/Circle to dodge, and Y/Triangle to heal).
